The Boys with the Black Stuff

The Holmes Family have been celebrating lately when Ben, age 14, Mitchell age 12, and Robbie, age 10 three brothers from the Ashby Tae Kwon-do club achieved their belts all on the same day.

The brothers started training in July 1997 with Carol Gameson at the TAGB Club in Ashby La Zouch.

They all attend Ibstock High School.

Carol Gameson says,

“They started training with me back in 1997, Robbie was only six years old at the time, Mitchell, 8yrs and Ben 10. Right from the start they have been perfect students. They all train at least twice a week, sometimes more at my other club at Coalville. They are all quick learners, respectful, and train hard; they have earned and deserved their Black belts.  They are all very talented and have achieved ‘A’ passes all the way up the grades. Their dad, Ian, has been great. He has driven them to every single lesson since they started, and sat and waited for them, taken them to competitions and gradings.  The boys realise they have a lot to thank their parents Tracey and Ian for being there for them and funding their training.  Its good to see their Boys haven’t let them down.”

When asked what their ambitions are, they all want to continue in Tae Kwon-do even more so than before.  Ben would love to win the World Championships, for patterns, sparring or both.  When he leaves school he would like to go into Law, maybe a Solicitor.

Mitchell would like to see a bit more of the world - GET SAVING DAD!

Robbie has daring plans and would like to try Bridge Swinging and Bungee.  All three say they would like to teach Tae Kwon-do when they are old enough.

Good luck for the future lads, you have youth, spirit and experience on your side, I hope you use them well.
