What is a Pattern (Tul)?

A pattern (tul) is a set of basic defence and attack movements, set in a logical sequence to deal with one or more imaginary opponents.  Patterns are an indication of a students progress and are practiced to:

  • Improve Tae Kwon-Do techniques, 

  • Develop sparring techniques

  • Improve flexibility of movement

  • Master body shifting

  • Develop muscle, balance and breath control.

All Patterns are set out as Step Number, Move, Stance, and Technique. For your easy reference.
