Two
Step Sparring (Ibo Matsoki) 
Two step sparring differs greatly from three
step. It is designed for the intermediate student to learn more
advanced techniques, still using the same timing and distancing
as in three step sparring. However unlike three step, the
defender is faced with more varied attacks, both hand and kick
techniques allowing the attacking student to develop various
combinations.
The
Attacker : Start in right L stance, forearm
guarding block.
The
Defender : Start in parallel ready stance.
No. 1
- Step 1: A High Section punch. D Right leg back in walking
stance, rising block with left hand.
- Step 2: A Front kick. D Left leg back in walking stance, X-fist
pressing block.
- Counter-attack: D Twin vertical punch.
No. 2
- Step 1: A Right hand side punch in fixed stance. D Right
leg back, in L stance, upward palm block with the left
hand.
- Step 2: A Left foot turning kick. D Left leg back, L stance, waist
block with the right hand.
- Counter-attack: D slide forward into right L
stance (facing away), right elbow strike in the ribs.
No. 3
- Step 1: A Right front kick. D Right leg back in walking
stance, X-fist pressing block.
- Step 2: A Step forward, twin vertical punch. D Step
back with the left leg, outer forearm wedging block.
- Counter-attack: D Left knee strike into ribs,
pull down on opponents shoulders.
No. 4
- Step 1: A Right hand flat fingertip thrust. D Right
foot back in walking stance, Knife hand rising block.
- Step 2: A Left leg side kick. D Left leg back in L stance,
right hand inward palm block, push leg around to reveil
oppontents back.
- Counter-attack: D Left front kick to coccyx,
twin upset punch to kidneys in left walking stance.
No. 5
- Step 1: A Right back kick. D Right leg back in L stance,
knife hand waist block with left hand.
- Step2: A Left hand palm strike to the nose. D Step
back in Left L stance, Right hand inward moving outer
forearm block.
- Counter-attack: D Slide right foot into walking
stance, left hand reverse knifehand strike to the solar
plexus.
No. 6
- Step 1: A Right high turning kick.
D Left leg back in
sitting stance, twin straight forearm block
- Step 2: A Step forward arc-hand throat grab. D Step
back in right L stance, palm hooking block with left hand.
- Counter-attack: D left side kick, pulling on
opponents arm.
No. 7
- Step 1: Side fist strike with right hand in fixed stance
D Left leg back
into L stance, twin forearm block.
- Step 2: A Middle section reverse turning kick with left
leg. D Step into right L stance knife-hand guarding
block (evading kick).
- Counter-attack: D High reverse turning kick with
Right leg.
No. 8
- Step 1: A Right middle side kick. D Right leg back, Inward moving
inner forearm waist block with Left hand,
- Step 2: A Spinning knife-hand strike in right L stance. D Cross
the left leg over the right, step back in right L stance,
knife-hand guarding block.
- Counter-attack: D left X stance, back fist
strike.
